hmm.. what I have until this Wednesday.. Today just attended Matthew's class.. tomorrow basicly nothing to do except computer class, but Wednesday I guess its kinda killing.. I will have..
- history test
- aural dictation test
- 2 songs to prepare for choir, Adoramus te & Moon River
- Night duty
Let's revise myself abit of history, where does actually music started ?? Well, it would up to 600 years ago, in churches.. This age of music, is called as the Renaissance age music, People go churches and listen to music, sacred for them, the form of music at that time is in monophonic, where all the choirs sings at the same melody line, you sing DO, he sings DO, everyone sings DO, and music in the church meant only for the nobles, not for the normal peasants like I do..
A choir boy and later a masses, motet and hymn composer was born, with the name Giovanni Palestrina, he started to wrote polyphonic music, which you sing DO, he sings MI, some sing SO, it became a harmony and different melody line carry out through out the whole song at the same time.. it was banned, because polyphonic was considered as not sacred, but soon the ban was lifted, because the Pope says "Palestrina's music is too beautiful to be banned".. The age of Renaissance ends as Palestrina, people entitled him as "The Prince of Music", passed away, as he started the use of polyphonic, bringing out the new style for the following period, the Baroque period, the period when one of the greatest musician at that time existed, J.S, Johann Sebastian Bach.. shall talk about him other time.. :)

ya.. today went to MPYO inaugaral Gala concert.. MPYO, Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, an orchestra formed to give chances to the local youths to participate into orchestra program.. some of my friends and classmates joined, it seems really fun !!!
It's their first concert, conduct and lead by Kevin Field.. I reached there 10 minutes before the concert, phew, luckily I got it in time, thanks to the girls, we're almost late, the worst thing is, I haven't take my breakfast nor lunch yet, woke up quite late, I wash my car in a hurry(it's too dusty) and myself and quickly rush for the concert..
The concert started with RIA, composed by Adeline Wong, I don't know what piece is that.. then followed by Schubert's unfinished symphony, a composer who lived in poverty, and he would became very famous only if his unfinished symphony was taken out from the old dusty cupboard, sadly, it happens only after he pass away, and that made him famous till now... Tchaikovsky's string elergie was the next song, and finally ended by Saint saens's Danse bacchanale, quite a fierce song, hehe..
Intermission time, I went out and meet up with some of my friends, surprisingly saw Benedict, from 1st KL BB wan, haha, didn't know I would saw a BB boy there XD.. Then the performers, college friends, blah blah blah, but none of them are my friends in the past before I turns 18.. It looks like I have a new peer and moving on to a new life without realizing it..
The second half of the concert is the Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade.” 4 movements in total.. well, Russian composer style, all you can heard is the main melody being repeated throughout the movement, but, it's not dull, it's not boring, and it has violin solo, oboe solo, clarinet solo, basoon solo, horn solo etc etc throughout the whole piece.. hehe..
ahh .. anyway.. I left as soon as the concert ends, damn hungry, send my friends home, eat dinner, practise a while, then I go home, made this entry.. going out to yum cha with a UTAR friend later, months we never met !!

hmmm..
Last Saturday, went back Methodist Church, the school is having their replacement class, I went down with Vivian for a lunch, then she gave me a birthday present, oh tq tq so much :D I went back to YC teach the boys abit, then went to GCO practise at night, KL told us there would be an audition for a temporary orchestra under the baton of a conductor from Portugal, and the orchestra will be performing with a violin soloist from Belgium..
The next day.. we a bunch of guyz from GCO went to AMPAC (Anne Muzikschule Performing Art Centre) near Subang Jaya to attend the audition... I prepared a study given by my teacher, Matthew, very very nervous, the first time I attend audition for outside orchestra, I didn't expect too much, since my skills are not up to standard yet.. The one who audit me is a clarinetist from KLPac, he's Eugene Pook dunno studying what music in overseas, a clarinetist to audit a clarinetist, that means I couldn't go through him easily =.='' Instead of playing only one piece like everyone else, he asked me to played 2nd piece (oh shit did I played badly?) and gave me a French Horn score for sight reading, mahhh goddd !! I even saw a kid half of my size holding a violin and grade 5 book to attend audition.. (=.='') I hope I pass the audition..
After audition, went for a lunch, then I went to KLPAC to watch the musical "Tunku".. its a musical about our independence.. How and what Malaysia, and Malaysian gone through to achieve independence, and what happened during the independence and elections in Malaysia... Peace, Racism, Riots, Politics, etc etc.. One of the most "classic" scene is during the riot of May 13 event.. can saw a few guyz chasing a girl, they throwing her here and there (the sound of knocking against ground are clearly heard, I wonder if she's pain) then finally rape her (they really show the action of raping one =.='') Hmm.. I was too tired, part of the show I fell asleep..
Happy holiday, my semester students starts our holidays for one week, some went back to hometown, and I stayed in my hometown(KL) to study for exam on next Monday, I have music history mid term test on Monday 9am, and ABRSM music theory exam on Monday 9am as well, errrr.. hmm ???
